Kanye West’s wife revealed on Monday that she has lost 42 pounds since giving birth to her son, Saint, in December. “Wanting more things to start fitting – 42 lbs. down and 28 to go!” Kim wrote on her blog Monday.
Kim gained 60 pounds during her second pregnancy last year. She is hoping to shed that weight, plus an additional 10 pounds that she gained over the past few years.
“I gained 60lbs during my pregnancy but have been an extra 10 lbs up for the last few years so it’s time to really get to my goal,” she tweeted in January. “This is going to be soooo f–king hard but I can do it and I can’t wait to share it all with you! #BeastMode #WhosWithMe ?!?!?!”

And so far, she is well on her way. She also wrote on Monday that some of her workout clothes are starting to fit her again.
So what is Kim Kardashian’s weight loss secret? The reality star previously said that breastfeeding was helping her slim down. She also has continued with the low-carb Atkins diet, though she has made a few adjustments.
“Because she’s breastfeeding, we started her on the Atkins 40 program, which is a new entry point for Atkins, which allows her more carbohydrates,” said Colette Heimowitz, the vice president of Nutrition Education and Science at Atkins.
Heimowitz continued: “So we can pace the weight loss at two pounds a week, so that it won’t affect her breast milk, and she gets adequate protein from chicken, fish, and some [red] meat, dairy from Greek yogurt and some cheese, lots of vegetables … low glycemic fruits like berries, healthy fats like nuts and olive oil — so many choices for her to make a healthy diet.”
Kim Kardashian also lost weight thanks to her rigorous exercise regimen. She has been working out with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson.
“What I’ve seen of Kim over the years, it’s not, ‘Oh, I’ve got to work out’ — it’s as built into her routine as breakfast, shower, lunch and work,” Peterson said late last year. “Kim is just on it — it’s what she does.”
