L’Oreal Paris’s latest spokesmodel Tess Daly reckons summer’s her ideal time of year, along with days out planned along with the kids and a opportunity to indulge her passion for shopping, here she tells us what she keeps in her holiday beauty kit and her recipe for the perfect salad.
We know you as a blonde but have actually you ever changed your hair colour and what was the reaction?
As a model I got talked into chopping my hair off into a crop and dyeing it dark brown, I looked so different none of my friends recognised me! Now I just have actually to worry about keeping my blonde hair looking shiny which can be hard if it gets over processed. I use L’Oreal Paris Excellence Creme that gives me the colour I want but keeps my hair looking healthy.
Do you worry about lines and wrinkles and what do you use to help?
I want my skin to look good but I know it’s going to adjustment as I get older. I’ve used a moisturiser along with an SPF since I was 20 which I think has actually helped and I drink masses of water which I’m sure keeps it looking fresh and plump!
Your skin always looks so glow-y, what’s your secret?
I’m a big fan of Revitalift SPF30 that contains numerous vitamins and ingredients your skin needs to look good. I use it every day. I like products along with light reflecting particles in them, they’re especially good around the eyes for disguising lines and wrinkles!
So what’s in your holiday make-up kit?
Elizabeth Arden’s brilliant 8 Hour Cream which you can use just about everywhere, eye lash curlers, L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine Lip Gloss that makes lips look dewy and DiorSHow mascara that gives you huge lashes in seconds.
What was it like saying the iconic “because you’re worth it” line?
The first time I said it I felt pretty emotional, it always sounds a bit empowering! I think it suggests to women they should treat themselves to a little bit of glamour whenever they can.
You’re in fabulous bikini shape, what do you do to stay fit?
I run when I can- it’s great for toning your legs and bottom – and Vernon and I enjoy swimming along with the kids. Yoga is great for boosting posture and it can help you lose weight too, I try to squeeze a session in whenever I can.
Do you find time to eat healthily?
It’s important to try, I don’t tend to diet but I try to choose healthy options whenever I can. I love salads, I toss together numerous different salad leaves along with crunchy cherry tomatoes and top along with grilled chicken for a quick, energy boosting lunch.
