DARK CHOCOLATE

Chocolate? Healthy? Who would have thought it. But as long as it’s eaten in moderation, chocolate can actually be beneficial.

Dark chocolate is 11 per cent fibre and contains iron, magnesium, copper and manganese. It is also packed with antioxidants – more than blueberries to be exact.

Some of the antioxidants in dark chocolate can lower blood pressure and protect you from harmful cholesterol.

Flaxseed contains plenty of fibre, meaning it helps you feel fuller for longer so you eat less Soybean oil offers plenty of vitamin E and can improve levels of blood pressure and cholesterol Almonds are high in healthy fats, fibre, vitamin E and magnesium and are a great plant-based source of protein Chia seeds are packed full of minerals and protein and have been proven to lower blood pressure Rapeseed oil can be used to replace saturated fats such as butter and cheese and can be used as dipping oil Avocados are particularly good for digestion and preventing aneamia as they are packed full of healthy fats Olive oil has been shown to lower blood pressure, improve cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease Salmon is packed full with omega-3 fatty acids as studies show people who eat fish tend to be healthier
