Community comes together for healthy food KTVL

MEDFORD, Ore. — A garden project that helps those in need in the community is continuing to grow.

P. Annie’s Secret Garden held a “bucket brigade” to work on new raised beds on Saturday. Members of the 59th Bear Creek scout group were there to volunteer.

“They’re learning carpentry skills,” scout master Lora Phillippi said. “They’re learning how to work together as a team and just really meeting that mission of giving back”

The garden has been operating now for three years.

“We have become accustomed to eating foods that are not so healthy for us,” founder of P. Annie’s Secret Garden Brooke Sanders said. “Time and labor, we weren’t 100-percent sure if folks would initiate that.”

The mission of the garden is to make sure everyone is able to have healthy food.
