Yes, Blink-182 is back, 311 is on tour, and Pokémon Go is a thing. The cultural consciousness may be calling for ’90s redux, but at New York Fashion Week: Men’s, another era is experiencing a revival. From the bouncy Dazed and Confused layers to the Sgt. Pepper mustaches and Hendrix-worthy frothy Afros, all hair signs point to another hippie heyday.
One fresh-from-the-shows skater sped away from photographers, his buttery lengths blowing behind his Skate and Destroy T-shirt. Men and women sported equally rumpled, chest-grazing air-dried waves, topped with matching floppy brimmed straw hats. And Birkenstock-esque footwear was paired with twinning black fringe and long-hair-don’t-care ’dos.
