Heart warming, winter comfort food need not mean unhealthy helpings of calories.
Auckland is house to more than 30 eateries who deliver raw, organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, vegetarian, vegan, wholefoods and health foods – and the list goes on.
Almost all of them taste as good as each other, the only problem is – there’s too lots of to choose from.
So we compiled our list of five of the most effective healthy eating options in Auckland.
1. LOOP, 462 Brand-new North Road, Kingsland
Priding themselves on serving food along with thought, Loop creates its dishes using the Low Carb High Fat method of eating so you can be sure the food is healthy, nourishing and still packed along with flavour. The hearty meat-lovers in the family can devour a perfectly cooked scotch fillet, lamb shanks, seared lamb loins or even a ham hock wrapped in pork fillet (highly recommended). Meanwhile for the non-carnivore, there are also plenty of options such as roast vegan vegetables, vegetarian tomato and basil spaghetti. Loop is sustainable, they don’t waste food and they use local, ethically produced ingredients for a guilt-free dining experience. Loop is a restaurant and bar but also serves breakfast and brunch.
