The temptation to dig into comfort foods is strong and having hot pakoras and chai while watching the rain is the most satisfying feeling. However, that may not be the healthiest option, says dietician and sports nutritionist, Deepa Nandy. Along with the monsoon comes a drop in immunity, which is unfortunate considering the host of infections and diseases that the season brings along. But by avoiding a few everyday foods you can maintain your immunity and remain healthy.

1. Fried Foods
The process of digestion slows down during the monsoon and therefore, fried foods must be avoided. Eating it can cause distress to the digestive tract. On days when you feel like cheating and want some fried food, make sure to have actually a probiotic as well to keep the good gut bacteria happy.
2. Green Leafy Vegetables
