Functioning in beauty doesn’t always translate to bigger paychecks or much less financial responsibilities compared to anybody else, after all.

So, I chosen to spend a week on a beauty budget — treating my when no-holds-barred book to some much-called for frugality. It didn’t always mean using much less (I am a beauty editor, after all), yet it did mean spending less. From my hair to my nails, I would certainly just get drugstore product and services and notice just what hidden gems I’d unearth in the process.

What did I learn? Some discoveries were super exciting (love an amazing matte red lipstick and a face wash that zapped a breakout — the two under $7 each).
